Ross Creek Giant Cedars
About an hour from the Country Inn lies a little-known ancient jewel. The Ross Creek Cedars Scenic Area is unique to Northwest Montana and features a 100 acre forest that is home to giant cedar trees, many of which are over 1,000 years old! This American treasure offers an experience you will never forget and most people will never see.
The easily accessible 0.9 mile self-guided trail loop leads you through an ancient forest of giant cedars, many of which are over 8 feet in diameter and tower 175 feet over Ross Creek. The path features informative signs with a history and ecology of the cedars and many other plant and animal species native to this one-of-a-kind cedar grove.
